    Influence of lattice distortion on the Curie temperature and spin-phonon coupling in LaMn0.5_{0.5}Co0.5_{0.5}O3_{3}

    Full text link
    Two distinct ferromagnetic phases of LaMn0.5_{0.5}Co0.5_{0.5}O3_{3} having monoclinic structure with distinct physical properties have been studied. The ferromagnetic ordering temperature Tc\textit{T}_{c} is found to be different for both the phases. The origin of such contrasting characteristics is assigned to the changes in the distance(s) and angle(s) between Mn - O - Co resulting from distortions observed from neutron diffraction studies. Investigations on the temperature dependent Raman spectroscopy provide evidence for such structural characteristics, which affects the exchange interaction. The difference in B-site ordering which is evident from the neutron diffraction is also responsible for the difference in Tc\textit{T}_{c}. Raman scattering suggests the presence of spin-phonon coupling for both the phases around the Tc\textit{T}_{c}. Electrical transport properties of both the phases have been investigated based on the lattice distortion.Comment: 9 figure

    In the present work RP-HPLC method has been developed for the quantitative estimation of Terbinafine hydrochloride in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations. A rapid and sensitive RP-HPLC Method with PDA detection (220 nm) for routine analysis of in Bulk drug and Pharmaceutical formulation was developed. Chromatography was performed with mobile phase containing a mixture of Potassium dihydrogen phosphate and Acetonitrile (65:35 v/v) with flow rate 1.5 ml/min. The linearity was found to be in the range of 50-150 µg/ml with (r2=0.999). The proposed method was validated by determining sensitivity, accuracy, precision, LOD, LOQ and system suitability parameters according to ICH guidrelines

    Studies on DC Magnetron Sputtered AZO Thin Films for HIT Solar Cell Application

    Get PDF
    Aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) is becoming an important and alternative transparent conducting oxide (TCO) material for solar photovoltaic applications due to its good electrical and optical characteristics, lower cost and more abundance, non-toxicity and stability in hydrogen plasma when compared to the popular indium tin oxide (ITO). In this work, AZO films are deposited on glass and silicon substrates with direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering using 5N pure Zinc Oxide target doped with 2 wt% Al2O3.The effect of deposition conditions on the structural, electrical and optical properties of the AZO films are investigated. The results demonstrated that the measured thickness of the deposited films are in the range 135- 490 nm. The X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the AZO films exhibit hexagaonal-wurtzite structure with the preferred orientation of grains along the (002) planes and an average crystal size of ~42 nm. At optimized sputter deposition parameters of an electrode distance of ~ 60 mm, substrate temperature of ~ 200 °C, target DC power of ~150 W and working pressure of ~2∙10¯³ mbar; the AZO films have shown an electrical resistivity of 1.27∙10¯³ Ω∙cm and an average optical transmittance value of 83.76% in the visible range for an optimal film thickness of ~265 nm. Finally HIT Solar Cells with AZO/p-a-Si:H/i-Si:H/n-c-Si/na-Si:H/Al structure have been fabricated by applying the optimized AZO films as front transparent electrodes. It is observed from the preliminary experiments that the fabricated cells have shown an initial photo conversion efficiency of 10.18% with an open circuit voltage (Voc) of 890 mV, short circuit current density (Jsc) of 15.68 mA/cm2 and a fill factor (FF) of ~ 73%

    Objective: The objective of this work was to develop and validate a simple and sensitive reverse-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography method for the determination of seven potential genotoxic impurities in Apixaban drug substance. Methods: The optimized separation was achieved by using ACE 3 C18 PFP (150 mm×4.6 mm, 3 µm) HPLC column. The mobile phase-A was a degassed mixture of 0.01M Ammonium acetate buffer(PH adjusted 4.9±0.05 with diluted glacial acetic acid) and mobile phase-B was a degassed mixture of Acetonitrile, Isopropyl alcohol and Buffer PH 4.9 in the ratio of 60:20:20 v/v/v. The gradient program was operated at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and UV detection was at 330 nm. Results: The method was superior at linearity for seven impurities and correlation coefficient values were larger than 0.999, moreover, in the separation point of view, this method further achieved no matrix interference through chromatography by better resolution of the other impurities from the Apixaban drug substance and its related impurities for the accurate analysis of seven potential genotoxic impurities. The established limits of detection (LOD), limits of quantification (LOQ) values for the seven mutagenic impurities were each of 5 ppm (0.015µg/ml) and15 ppm (0.045µg/ml) respectively. The developed method was validated as per ICH guidelines and applied as a generic method to determine these seven potential genotoxic impurities for the pharmaceutical process control and drug material release. Conclusion: Validation of this analytical method was carried out including stability, selectivity, linearity, accuracy, system precision, method precision and intermediate precision thus proving that the described RP-HPLC method could be employed for fast and simple analysis of sevenphenyl hydrazine chloro ester isomers in Apixaban drug substance

    Tetanus is uncommon in developed countries. The majority of tetanus cases occur in third world countries and 50% of these cases occur in neonates. There are more than 800,000 deaths due to tetanus each year in the world. We present a case of 40-year-old male patient diagnosed to have very severe tetanus - Grade IV as per Ablett classification of severity, managed in our hospital with aggressive treatment for 27-days and use of intrathecal baclofen he showed drastic improvement in this status.  He was discharged in neurological intact conditions with hemodynamic stability.

    Fractal analysis of electrical tree grown in silicone rubber nanocomposites

    Get PDF
    Electrical treeing is one of the main reasons for long-term degradation of high voltage insulation especially in the cable accessory which commonly made from silicone rubber due to non-uniformly structures of the cable accessories. Recently, the combination of nanofillers with the silicone rubber matrix can reduce the possibility of the electrical treeing to grow further by changing its patterns and slow-down its propagation. However, the influences of nanofillers on the tree hindrance and its patterns are not well understood. This paper explores the influence of nanofiller on tree pattern in silicon rubber. The electrical tree patterns were characterized using fractal analysis. The box-counting method was used to measure the fractal dimension and lacunarity to obtain the structure of the tree pattern during the electrical tree growth. The structure of the electrical tree in silicone rubber nanocomposites has higher fractal dimension and lacunarity. Sample with nanofiller possesses dominant fractal dimension of tree growth compared to the sample without nanofiller
